Kopi O

Kopi-O or Kopi O is the traditional black coffee of Malaysia and Singapore. The coffee is prepared from coffee beans which are roasted with sugar, and sometime added . Coffee shops or 'kopi tiam' as they are often called in Malaysian/Singapore style are cafes which serve this traditional brew. A cup of  kopi-0 is black coffee served with lots of sugar at the bottom of the cup. Kopi O is also served with milk (often condensed milk) called 'kopi' or kopi susu.    A popular version of Malaysian coffee is White coffee, which originates from the city Ipoh, which is coffee beans roasted in margarine and grounded. Note this when ordering Kopi: Kopi O - coffee with sugar Kopi (kopi susu)- coffee with sugar and condensed milk Kopi Cham - coffee with tea, sugar and condensed milk You can of course order these items specifying less of sugar or milk.
